Cyber Security System (CSS)
CSS is a discrete time, agent-based model that employs Game Theory to determine agent behavior. The model used was to assess the state of a network’s security due to personnel, policy or technology, and quantifies changes on the security posture of any network or collection of networks.
An OPNAV N81 CND POM 10 study identified the need for a robust cyber-security modeling tool. CND POM 10 looked at the relationship between cyber-security and mission level effects. One of the findings was current tools available were not capable of providing the fidelity required to properly model the cyber-security domain. OPNAV WCM funded a research and discovery task to do a thorough vetting of modeling capabilities and provide a way forward for future Navy cyber modeling efforts.
